Kenya will host the Climate Action Summit 2025 from September 28–30 at the Kenya School of Government in Lower Kabete, Nairobi. The summit is expected to attract government leaders, development partners, investors, and civil society groups focused on climate resilience.

The event aims to align both national and county-level efforts in tackling climate change. By bringing governors, ministries, and local communities together, the summit seeks to create a unified approach to climate action.

One of the key highlights will be the launch of the Climate Action Delivery Unit (CADU). This body will track, monitor, and coordinate Kenya’s climate commitments, ensuring that pledges translate into measurable results.

The summit will also showcase opportunities for green investment. Sectors such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and waste management are expected to feature prominently as Kenya courts international and local investors.

Organizers emphasize that Kenya is positioning itself as a model for Africa in climate leadership. The country has already developed policies on clean energy, tree planting, and climate-smart agriculture that other nations are watching closely.

A special focus will be on locally led solutions. From community tree-planting projects to county-level renewable energy pilots, the summit will highlight the power of grassroots innovation in climate adaptation.

Experts say that aligning counties with national climate strategies is crucial. Counties bear the brunt of climate impacts like droughts and floods, and empowering them is key to resilience.

International partners are expected to make pledges of financial and technical support. Kenya hopes the summit will unlock new streams of green financing that boost jobs, innovation, and climate resilience.

As the countdown begins, stakeholders are calling the Climate Action Summit 2025 a turning point. By merging ambition with delivery, Kenya wants to prove that climate leadership can drive both equity and low-carbon growth.
